Hi,

I found this article riveting because I have been stalked by the whole Victorian Sherlockian mystery for years. I have loads to comment on and would like to share some interesting provocative dialogue regarding Charles and his son but my only dilemma is will any one be responding as it is quite an old article?

Hi,

I am very interested to talk with you, I have been considering becoming a mortuary makeup artist for some time now and was hoping to gain some advice from you. I have been a licened cosmetologist for 3 years and have also been professionally trained in makeup (beauty, special effects, airbrushing) at Cinema Makeup School here in LA. Is there any additional training you would reccommend for me? Also, you mentioned that you use a different kind of makeup since you are working with dead skin. Totally makes sense, but I was wondering what exactly it is that you use for your makeups.

Thanks so much!

I know how you feel cos I'm her fan and I've been supporting her since Labyrinth. But somewhere along the way as she metamorphosise to fit into the expectations of Hollywood, it's as though I've lost "Sarah' somewhere along the way. I think the brave, strong-willed Sarah of Labyrinth wouldn't have caved in to these Hollywood executives and starved her way into acclaim. But it's humiliating stripping and being leered at for your assets only. I understand and I try and respect, but undeniably the sense of loss is overwhelming. her old nose was the most beautiful thing in the world! And she looked as sweet and cute whenever she turned to show her side profile. Now you are right, she looks like a Eyptian mummy. :(

I see that a lot of people are interested in this profession. I am one of them. I was also inspired by this article. I am however discouraged by my awful work schedule which makes it impossible to attend school. I worked in a salon a long time ago and keep my liscense current. I believe people who work in this field have had a calling and good luck to all those trying to get involved in it.

This is such an interesting and insightful article. I hope it sheds some of the ignorance people have about being intersex or just being "different". The world is so diverse and we don't and can't know everything,I hope articles like these help to open peoples minds. Its hard enough trying to "fit in" as a teenager no matter your shape, size, colour... etc but when nature throws you challenge such as being intersex, I can't even begin to image the cruelty and or indnorance one has to indure. I just think that regardless of how we are made and what we look like we are evolving and we are all beautiful. The comment made by "anon" is just the sort of comment made by ignorant, insecure people how quite frankly, we could do with less of.

Wow!!! I have wanted to be a mortician ever since I saw this movie about a mortician lady who falls in love with this guy. It interested me more than psychology. My grandmother hates the fact that I want to be in this type of a profession and environment but after two months she finally realized that I really am interested in it. I am a horror movie fanatic and I always loved the fact of being able to work with the dead. I love cosmetology also! I really would like to get some professional advice and listings on things. Please email me back at Jinxed77@comcast.net!!! Thanks,
